Marketing Budget Analyst (m/f/d)

Munich Office
Full-time
Fixed-term

JOIN OUR TEAM

As a Marketing Budget Analyst, you will be instrumental in bridging the gap between the marketing leadership and finance teams. Your role will involve organising and tracking marketing costs, ensuring accurate reporting, and fostering alignment with budgetary expectations. This position is limited to 2 years and located in Munich.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Organise and track marketing costs to facilitate alignment between Marketing and Finance teams

  • Ensure accurate allocation of expenses to the appropriate cost centers

  • Collaborate with finance to clarify discrepancies and streamline budgeting processes

  • Build and maintain cost dashboards - ideally in Streamlit - to give Marketing and Finance clear, self-service visibility into spending and budget performance

  • Write and investigate SQL queries to pull cost data, validate figures, and get to the bottom of discrepancies

  • Support the Marketing Leadership team in interpreting financial data to inform decision-making, as well as assist the Marketing Analytics team with regular task management and scrum procedures, utilising AI and automation where applicable

YOU COME WITH

  • 3+ years of working experience, ideally in controlling or budget analysis in a marketing environment

  • Hands-on SQL experience - you are comfortable querying data, joining tables across sources, and sanity-checking your own results - as well as experience building dashboards, or a genuine willingness to learn it

  • Understanding of finance concepts such as depreciation, amortisation, and accruals

  • Highly organised and proactive way of working combined with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively

  • A critical, curious mindset - you question numbers that look off, dig into the root cause, and are keen to learn how dashboards are refreshed and how queries can be investigated

  • Fluency in English and excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build rapport with stakeholders
